Is it just me that builds an internal fury when someone refers to it as 'Driving' a bike i.e. not 'riding' a bike?!!?!?

In Russia you "drive" rather than "ride" motorcycles, I had a long argument with my teacher about this and insisted on using ride (as in horses) much to her consternation.

Fly. You only hear 'drive' when people are explaining to their kids what the pilot does.

It took me years to stop thinking of train drivers whenever I heard 'engineer'.

I drive my missus every night ...

It sounds stupid to "RIDE" my missus. Girls ride boys, boys dont ride girls.
I ride the bike when I am on my own.
