Is it just me that's a complete retard and is struggling with it? First time I attempted it, I got 42 out of 50 and the pass mark is 43 so that sucked. Tried it again today and got 37. Gradually getting more and more put out by this and thinking about giving up trying to ride in the UK at all.

Done several practice theories on all4bikers.co.uk, some freebie thing, and I never seem to do too badly there. Anyone got any hints and tips or literature that's worth reading to get through it? I passed my car one first time as well as the car practical test first time so if this is going to take me several attempts I'm going to cry Crying or Very sad

The more you do, the more tests the better.

I just got the DVLA CD and kept hammering out small tests over and over again. A few of the same questions came up on mine or similar ones.

Its all in the wording.

Look at the answers, what answers are not the correct ones? Out of the remaining answers what consequences will happen if you choose one over the other. Allow reason and common sense to prevail.

You know how to ride and drive, its not rocket science. Rushing the questions and impatience is probably you biggest down fall.

On https://www.theory-tests.co.uk/ for £6-7 you can practice the same (I think) questions as you get on the real test for a month.

Just get an account there, or get one of the DVDs, and fill out like 30 tests. When completing a test, always review the ones you've failed on and try to remember the correct answer.

Even after a couple of tests you'll pass most of the time, so just take your time and practice, practice, practice.

Oh and you never fail untill you give up, so don't worry Wink

Get the offical DVD.

I got it, an opened it the morning of my test, spent an hour on it and went an did the theory and nailed 48/50 right. I've got a good memory that's all it boils down to. Oh and most of it's common sense.

Revise, revise and do some more if you can't pass the mock ones.

As has been said if the test is set by the DSA, then why not go out and buy the DSA learning cd for it, will have nearly all the questions on there.
I used oasis software one to pass, but im told dsa one is much better as it knows the questions obviously Laughing

When I did my theory there was a book you could buy with every single question that was in the test with the correct answer. I read through that twice and passed easy.

Buy the book and go through the questions once.

Then go through them again, but cover up the choices and see if you can answer them without looking.

Write down the question numbers of the ones that you couldn't answer and learn them.

50/50 for bike.
50/50 for car.

Hope that helps. I prefer a hardcopy rather than internet questions because you can revise anywhere.

A couple of tests online is not enough practice. Tbh, I probably did too much. but it did pay off.

I did three or four practice tests on the DSA website a day for a week until I was absolutely sure I'd clocked it.

And sure enough, I had.
