My beautifull bike is now nothing more than scrap Crying or Very sad . The assesor came and said it was a write off.
Ah well at least I can get a bigger bike now, I was thing a bros400. Anyone got any ideas for a nice 33bhp bike that can travel long distances comfortably?

Bugger comfort. Get a VFR or something similar. Wink Would have to be restricted I guess though where the bros 400 is 33bhp legal already. How long left on your 33bhp restriction?

That doesn't look that bad to me at all, it looks like a cosmetic write off. Have you considered buying it back as salvage and either selling it on as a write off or breaking it?

You should be able to buy it back for a nominal price and make some decent money back out of it.

Looks like lots of broken plastic, but is there anything wrong inside. If not then it should be fine (Me waits for a telling off because it is probably more broken than it looks)

The guy said the frame was twisted but I don't really know if thats cosmetic or major to be honest. If you look carefully you can see the back end is at an angle to the rest of the bike.

I was on a motorway roundabout and old lady came off the motorway and didnt stop. Went in to the side of her at an angle because I was trying to turn while breaking Embarassed . I'm not sure where the bike went but I went over the car and the bike was on the other side of the car when I got up, I cant believe the bike came over as well.

How does that work? It was 1900 to start and I will get that money back from the other persons insurance, can I get the bike as well?

The bike is still yours now. In effect they can offer to buy it off you as part of the settlement. They cannot force you to hand it over (although they can make it financially not worthwhile to keep it).

The bike isnt even worth buying off the insurance company, by the look of those pic's the swing arm is knackered and the wheel is off by quite a margin and the frame looks bent badly too.

As for the new bike, have you considered a 500Twin, give you a bit of experience on a "higher" Capacity bike?

It is worth buying back off the insurance company, as I said you can have it for a nominal amount. It cost me £200 to buy back my written off Blade and I sold it as a write off for £2000, which in my book isn't a bad profit.

As Keith said the bike is still yours until you accept any offer and hand over the documentation. When/if they make an offer you can accept it or decline it if you don't think it's enough. Even if you think it's fair you can always ask for the bike as salvage too as part of the deal. If they aren't willing to let you have it in with the settlement you can ask for a salvage value and buy it back. So say if they offered you £1500 and they said the salvage value was £200 you would get a cheque for £1300 and the bike.

Even selling off some of the parts can easily cover the salvage costs, parts like the forks, tank, engine, etc can be worth that on their own. A lot of the time dealers and breakers trawl through Ebay and such places looking for this sort of thing.

Tsch, I thought that insurance meant however much I spent on the bike I get 100% of it back.

Hi

Think the sub frame under the seat can be replaced seperatly, and that is probably what is bent at the back.

Should you buy another NSR then it is definatly worth buying back. Even the engine on its own is probaly worth a couple of hundred on Ebay.

I'm definately not getting another NSR.
Looking for something cheap, naked, round tyres (as in not commuter tyres) and can go long distances happily. Any ideas?

i have done silly distance on the bros, and not suffered too much from it, its always in the back of your mind tho that you wouldnt mind getting blasted by wind a little less

but it least it keeps your speed down
