Today on my way to work some twat in there car, on there mobile phone decided he was not going to stop at a red light and carry on round a roundabout stright towards me as i joined the roundabout.

If anybody knows northampton it was the one near the sainsburys at weedon rd, and i was coming from mill lane and the car was going around the roundabout as if it had came up past the BP petrol station.

All i could do was hit the brakes and swerve and i came to full stop and the bloke just looked at me as if to say opps did'nt see you i pointed at the red lights to which he just shugged his shoulders. At this point i went to get off my bike and he flew off down weedon rd with me in pursuit ran another red light and got away, but not before i got his reg !! ha ha you cunt!!!! Evil or Very Mad

Phoned the police to report it and they have said they will check the CCTV at the roundabout and pay the guy a vist. I am glad he got away as i would have beat seven shades of shit out of him, had i got my hands on him.

I did a quick paint diagram of it ( always wanted to do one Mr. Green )

I am red and the blind mother f***er in the cage is in blue.

Amazing that the police actually seem to have taken your call seriously though. If they did this more, I suspect less people would get thumped by irate drivers/riders.

I can only hope your riding skills are better than your paint drawing skills. Laughing

Good to see you got the reg, if the police actually do something about it I will be amazed.

I use that BP garage quite a lot - I always take care at the roundabout because of cagers jumping the lights like this!!

Some people are just too impatient...

People always jump those lights if they don't see any other traffic

Roundabouts with lights are stupid. Just demolish **cken roundabout and convert it to a Jersey style junction.

Tell me about it! I must have missed the meeting where they decided that people were too stupid to make their own decisions at roundabouts, because suddenly theres lights on ALL of them Rolling Eyes

Theres nothing worse than sitting at a clear roundabout because the lights are still red Evil or Very Mad

Just out of curiosity, what number would you call to report tossers like this? I do love the fact he shat himself when you went to get off the bike, hilarious seeing a fully geared up, helmet, gloves(with carbon knuckles) get off his bike and walk up to cagers, they either drive off as fast as possible or lock the doors.

Usually, it's not a safety / stupidity measure, it's because the roundabout is predominantly filled from one or two directions which make it impossible (well very difficult) to enter from some directions at rush hour. It does make you think that maybe a roundabout was not the junction they needed to put there in the first place though.

I guess installing a few lights is cheaper than ripping it up and putting in the correct type of junction.

Sucks that this guy nearly hit you. Though since they started putting traffic lights on every roundabout potentially adding an extra 5 mins on a 10 min journey I've started taking traffic lights less seriously. I do look to see if its clear Wink

They could spend the money to convert them to junctions rather than planting trees, trimming grass etc etc... In long term, junctions are cheaper to run compared to roundabouts.

Sorry for the slight side issue, but as others have spoken of roundabouts with lights ...

I think the idea is OK if they are part-time lights, i.e. they only function at rush hour/busy times. Basically at a normal roundabout, the amount of times whilst in the cage/van I have been screaming at some pu55ey in front who never pulls out/hesitates for what seems an eternity I can't count*!! Evil or Very Mad Middle Finger At least the lights mostly** do away with this problem Thumbs Up ... so at busy times, I'd say it prolly IS quicker that way ... ones that are on 24/7 are annoying as feck though!! Evil or Very Mad

*obviously on a bike you filter to the front, so it's annoying at all times!! Very Happy

*you still get some dozy feck that p1ss pharts about when the lights change

I don't think you would have had a problem, if you weren't wobbling all over the road Shocked
