God I hate computers, and I work with them for a living!! If only I could go back to the dark ages and knock 2 pieces of stone together for the rest of my life I'd be happy.
So at my work we've just been upgraded to Office 2007, great and why? I have no idea, it's a pain in the arse.
I liked my Office 2003, I like my classic look, I liked the fact that every window that pops up looks the same, has the same basic layout etc. I like being able to read lots of figures on a basic grey background and not hurt my eyes with colours.
Now it looks crap! I can't change Orifice 2007 colours or layout, I can't change it to the classic style...
Worse still... I think okay, man up - I'll get used to it, move into the 21st century and all that. But I can't even change my effing XP settings to match the Orifice 2007 look!! If only I ran the chuffing IT dept here, I'd put us all back to Windowsand Office '98. Smooth, quick, easy and lets you change what you want! GRRRRR....
(rant over)

I share your hatred.
Took me many burst blood vessels before I even got to grips with the basics again with excel.
The most cuntish thing about it is they have changed their default font to something called Calibri, which I dont like, I was quite happy for 15+ years with Times New Roman.
They don't like you making your own decisions about fonts though, and despite wiping every trace of the font from the system, it somehow manages to change it back from TNR to calibri if I so much as click away from the line I am typing.
I want it to burn in the fires of hell for eternity.

In MO2K7's defence Calibri is much more readable font than TNR. I printed my dissertation using Calibri. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. I hear your pain...
Wait till you decide to save something quickly, throw it on your flash drive, drive to a clients to show them the doc you have done for them, only to discover that they have an 'unofficial' version of Word 2003 and cant read .docx files...
and all because you forgot to save as word 2003 version instead ....
