Righto, back a few months, i had a little accident involving some parkour, a big gap in a building and a metal pole.
Long story short, i landed on the balls, and now have a big crack in my pelvis that's taking it's time healing up.
Now my problem is, that before this... Obviously i was active, parkour, jogging, cycling and the like.
Now i can't do any of them because of this injury... It hurts like a bitch whenever i walk or even attempt to run, even on the bike it's sore.
Now i know a lot of people have had a lot of injuries on here... So what do you do to stop yourself getting fat but avoifding further injury?
I have a home gym, with a bike, treadmill, weights and rowing machines, but all of them hurt bar the weights.
Just wondering if i'm going to have to wait till this bloody injury gets better, or am i going to have to diet....
Oh yeah, i already eat well, nothing over the top, you know, health freak.
Well, that's apart from the occasional KFC
Cheers

Seriously, concentrate on resting and getting your pelvis better. Fitness and gaining weight shouldn't be a concern in the slightest. If you're as active as you say that can all be sorted out AFTER you've healed up. ____________________ 2012 KTM EXC 250

Yes, I'll second swimming. But stick to the long strokes, front and back crawl - at least with your legs. Also, when in bed or sitting, don't cross your legs/ankles. It's a tough one to unlearn but it helps massively.
I am fairly inactive due to my pelvis damage, and only get exercise through work, up and down from my chair, walking and lifting paper reams. So I start off the day with a big cereal based brekkie, pick at fruits and nuts and sesame sticks for lunch, and do veg and fish/chicken in the eves.
Works for me! ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

Isn't parkour just french gimps running about like 4yr olds on smarties and freerunning is yanks doing the same.
Hope you heal, but have no sympathy for grownups running around acting like nobs and breaking themselves.

Well I actually think it's rather good, and its a good thing for teens to focus on/channel their energies into, there is a group from Basingstoke, who have got themselves on local news and a show on tv recently. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

Don't forget to check out the pilates. They are exercises that were originally designed to help rehabilitate injured WW1 servicemen.
The control, breathing and balance aspects would probably help with your parkour too. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I'd think that you could get away with doing upper body resistance training which will increase muscle mass thereby increasing the amount of calories you burn whilst you rest up your lower body too. Plus the exercise in itself will benefit you.
I've seen guys with one leg win bodybuilding competitions and disabled people training regularly, if they can do it, you can too
