refilling cooing system

Had to put a new radiator on the Varadero. I was going to fill the system back up via the resevoir, but when filling it up the coolant just poors out of the over flow pipe.
Should I fill up with the engine running, that way the pump moves the coolant around the engine or is there another way of filling the system?

If there is one, you'd normally fill it via the radiator cap. Keep topping it up then squeezing the hoses to dislodge any airlocks. Then fill the expansion bottle, run the engine for a few minutes, allow it to cool and top it up again.

If there is no filler cap, you should be able to get it full most of the way via the top hose, reattach it then top-up via the reservoir.
