Does anyone own the above who is 6'2" and weighs in at 14/15 stone?

I really want one, especially the honda, but every time i see one the rider is always short and stick thin Very Happy

Any opinions of if they'd be suitable?

I would but there closed right now Laughing

Just wanted some real biker advice really, my local dealer tried to make me believe a cbr125 would be good for me when i was clearly very uncomfortable sat on it.

Well I'm 6' 1 and was on the lighter side of 14 stone earlier this year.

I don't have any problems hustling on mine. Just try and get some test rides, tis the only way you'll know.

Yer, only problem is being 19 dealers really dont take me seriously, even with the 08 plate bike parked outside they still think i aint got a pot to piss in, especially honda dealers.

Its time they realised young people without mortgages have got lots of money to waste Razz

I know your pain.

When i walked into the honda dealer to buy a new blade they said, and i quote "nice bike innit kid? you can only dream"

It wasn't until i pulled 9 grand out of my pocket in fresh £20 notes and said i'll take the red one that he started to treat me as a normal person.

I made sure i got a free helmet and gloves for the little comment he made.

I would have taken the nine grand out of my pocket to show him what he lost just because of his comment and would have gone elsewhere.

Granted though, the excitement of getting your new bike right at that moment would have probably been too much.

Do I have an alter ego? (Sounds suspiciously like what I was thinking of asking. Lol.)

Basically I been trying to plan ahead for when my license is derestricted (less than 5 months to go) and wondered about sizes and looking like a fat monkey.

I think its the question many want to ask but few do Very Happy

Which would people say is the biggest, an R6 or a CBR600rr.

I was going to go to the dealers today but work ran over and didn't get home until 5.

You'll fit on either, but you won't look ideally suited. But hey, it's a risk you just have to take. R6 is probably slightly bigger than the rr.

I'm 6' 3" and just under 14stone. But I'm a lanky fucker. Judge for yourself.

i've got an R6 and to be honest i find it pretty flimsy and small. its comfortable and everything, so no worries there, i just preferred my GSXR. stepping from one to the other is like going from a CG125 to a pedal bike.

then again... i did fit a mini moto
<<<<

my GSXR SRAD was perfect for me (6'2, 15st), so i would say have a look at them rather than a CBR or R6.

i got on really well with mine, they crash really well and are cheap to repair, and near enough indestructable.

Yeah my SRAD fitted me pretty well too come to think of it.

But then that's reknown to be quite a lardy bike, quite a low seat height though.

Well I've posted one photo...

(Think I was a bit skinnier then, those leathers don't fit me now.)

or maybe a TL1000R? as a SRAD 6-750 is an aquired taste, plus they're also pretty big. TL's look a bit more sporty if your vain and queer.

Thanks for the varied replys Very Happy

I aren't too keen on srads tbh, and i dont think i'm ready for a thou, need something to look forward to Razz

I am going to have to go try them out, i really want the honda, been a dream bike of mine for a long time. But the yamaha is nice too and i could get an older one which would be cheaper.

Little update for anyone with the same question.

Ive sat on an 03 R6 and an 05 RR.

In my opinion the cbr was a hell of a lot comfier, legs are not as cramped, bars are closer better for reach and seem comfier than the r6. The seat is also a lot better, its better than my er now infact as it is more padded.

So to conclude, i will hopefully be buying an rr, maybe tomorrow if the deal is right Very Happy

I would have done, but they were the only dealer to have a red fireblade in stock within a reasonable distance.
