Spent Thursday and Friday I've been sat at the beach watching planes! Normally I get bored and leave, but there was some impressive stuff this year.

Didn't take the camera myself, but there were plenty of people with more skill than me taking photo's.

Some of the best.

But then there is this guy!!

Always impressive!

I believe it to be a General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin F16C fighting falcon. And it is wearing the roundels of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

Didn't spot ya!

You a Lowestoft bod as well then?

Rain wasn't too bad for me as I only live about a minute from the seafront, so when the sky went black I just made it home before the heavens opened!

Did anyone watch this on More4?

https://www.channel4.com/programmes/engineering-britains-superweapons/4od#2929720

About the v-bombers used for our cold war nuclear threat, quite interesting.

I didn't. I didn't take the camera with me this year. All of these pics I've grabbed from else where, there were a lot of people there with much better equipment there than I have.

Found this one of the battle of Britain memorial flight. One of the best sounding displays you could ever get.

https://farm3.static.flickr.com/2651/3759187994_1d7c2a4c79_o.jpg

All these pics are off of Flickr. Just type in Lowestoft 2009 and stack appear, there are a lot I can't copy onto here.

There are some good ones of a rather odd display which involved 2 planes and a glider. Very odd!

Wasn't expecting the F16 to start shooting out flares either!

The Bournemouth Airshow is on in 3 weeks time and it's similar, as you get to sit on the beach to watch - can't wait Laughing

On for four days, so hoping at least one of them will be nice weather, as last year the cloud was a bit too low to really get the best views.
