hi first id like to say thanks for looking and thanks for the information and help you give me,

I just bought a nsr 125 3 days ago off ebay whilst my mum's mate was testing it the bike seemed fine then getting onto the motorway (8-10 miles on) it was still ok but as soon as he stopped and pulled into the first services the gears went and would not go into any gear except first and it also seems like the bike has 2 naturals as well. when you put the stand down it stalls but wont move when you let the clutch out but when you knock it up in gear it then moves but stalls 5 seconds later and when i went round today to the garage it now it going into first and second it is just weird but i dont have a clue !

any help out there ?

on this bike you cant run the engine with the stand down and a gear engaged (even with the clutch handle tighten)
are you able to engage the 3rd gear ?
does the green dash light shows when in neutral
if your gears go normaly , your problem seems coming from your stand switch

Selector forks maybe? If it doesn't somehow fix itself with a little teasing then it'll need stripping. 125's are easy to work on and it'll give you chance to bond with your bike. Might be worth pricing the parts though, if their really expensive it may be cheaper to get a new engine off fleebay/breakers (or one with a knackered top end).[/i]

my question intend to ask if your gears engage without engine on
try to engage 3rd . because if you can engage the third it's not a question of gearbox but an electric question . move the bike while engaging gears and see what
