Could be the light that they use during the day?! Smile

Not so dazzling?

I have seen bikes which have both on, but that is just blinding! Smile

My Aprilia RS125 was like this. One lamp is the dipped beam and one is the main beam. Bit of a strange design decision in my opinion but that's Italians for you...

My GSXR is like that, I was led to believe it was some stupid EU requirement or something.

It's law that every bike from 2001 has only one light on because stupid car drivers were saying things like ( 'It looked like a far away car , next thing I know he was under my wheel!)

It's a saftey thing Rolling Eyes It can't be rerouted either!

Was it UK spec or imported?

Don't think so, I think the 2000 model was different decals. Not sure though.

It was a UK bike Thumbs Up

My '02 Fazer has both lights on - aesthetically I think its far nicer.

Im not convinced that Mr Magoo in his ford cage is going to be less of a hazard if I have one light on rather than two anyway, so I shall keep mine as it is.

Remember - everyone else on the road is an idiot until proven otherwise

My 04 Fazer has one light on, but has two smaller 'sidelights' (for want of a better description) on all the time. Second light only comes on when full beam switched on.

I'm guessing that having two lights at the front is more pleasing to the eye (in a design sense) than having just the one with a double bulb inside? If you look at all the latest sportsbikes they have the double front light set-up, event the Italian ones! (Althought the 999 has them on top of each other, rather than side by side.

On my 02 Blade three of a five lights come on when I put the dipped beam on. One main head light and two side/parking lights, the headlight isn't hard wired on. All five lights come on with full beam, it's quite effective for letting people know you are there! Wink

Some Euro twat was trying to stop the manufacturers from making bikes that light both headlights for dipped beam, for safety reasons. Rolling Eyes

I thought that on all new bikes the dipped headlight was light from the off, hardwired to the ignition.

On the RS125 one light is dipped and the other is High beam.

Flip is right, cagers were using 2 lights as an excuse for pulling out on bikers.
There is always a way round it as the bikes are made with both lights then one is de-activated. USA and Jap bikes usually have both on. Most bikes have a kit available to turn on the other, the rest it's just a case of the wiring.
