Just bought myself a couple of bags (1 tank and 1 tail) and i was just wondering which would be the best place for the heavy stuff (bike chains etc etc).Tank or tail...or doesn`t it matter for stability/handling?

also...most of the stuff has a tendency to move around in the bags but it doesnt come close to the weight of a pillion.(if that helps you answer?)

I don't think it'll make much difference either way.

I would put the heavy stuff on the back and light soft gera in the tank bag.

Personally, I would have most weight in the tankbag so its in the centre of the bike, but as you say the weight of a chain won't make that much difference anyway.

To stop stuff moving around, add an extra bungee over the top.

I had my gixer well loaded for Assen, and I had a pillion Razz

Seems a little dangerous to have things sliding around, although my moped boot is full of tools and it's never been even a slight problem for me. Question

its never been a problem because you are on a moped! Laughing
you probably only corner at 30mph. Thumbs Up

Put it in the tail, it's designed to have an entire person sat there so a wee chain won't matter.

Having carried a car battery in a tankbag once, I don't recommend putting massive weight there. Laughing

I'd have thought put the weight in the tailpack as it's lower than the tankbag and will keep your centre of gravity lower.
