No names mentioned as I don't want a libel case....A word of warning to anyone looking at a '03 KTM 640 LC4 Supermoto for sale in a certain dealers in West Yorkshire - before buying it, check for the following:
- excessive wear on head bearings on the test ride
- rear tyre with 1mm tread in centre (legal but needs replacing)
- a WRP exhaust with a snapped front bracket
- flat battery
- cracked headlight,
- missing chain roller

I don't wanna bad-mouth the dealer but suffice it to say thats how they sold it to me (over distance, I wasn't informed of any of these) and denied that any of the above are problems....... - KTM dealer said they'd have failed it on the MOT for the bearings. dealer also exhibited THE worst customer service I've ever come across.

If all you say is true it is not libelous. Name and shame I say, if they are happy to knock out a bike like that what else would they sell.

well, as I said I'm not going to name the dealer because they may well have fixed all the problems before putting it on re-sale (I seriously doubt this as they didn't consider them big enough problems to fix in the first place.....), but lets just say the bike in the MCN link DaveJPS suggested does look a little familiar.

If you're passing, I'd be dead curious to know if the obvious things have been fixed - I left the broken bracket showing through the hole in the side-panel. I genuinely don't think it was even test-ridden by them before I bought it and I'm 99% sure it wasn't serviced.

Interestingly you'd think a dealer selling a bike would know it was actually 625cc and not 640cc......

aye i may stick my nose in the next time i'm passing.

i did nearly buy a bike off them (daytona 650) but all the leaway they where offering on price, disappeared when i said i wanted the rear tire replacing (as it had mismatched tires on the test ride) Thumbs Down needless to say i didn't go with them.

went in yesterday and they've either sold it or it's in the workshop, as it wasn't in the showroom.
