changing an exhaust? what do I need to know?

My current exhaust has holes. I will change it for a chrome version, I think (baffled) which I have seen cheap.

Is it a case of taking the old off, screwing the new on? Is it as straightforward as that?

Yep, that's it. If you're changing the can that's a piece of cake, the full system is a little more involved and it's worth soaking the bolts that going into the engine with penetrating oil for 24hrs before attempting removal.

And also if your bike uses an exhaust gasket (some just have tapered ends) make sure to replace it with a new one else your exhaust will 'blow'.

full exhaust system replace.

where are the gaskets to go then, where the exhaust plugs into the engine?
