Im thinking of removing the hump from my leathers for 2 reasons, one is I can't get my waterproofs over it easily and they zip up too tight around the neck because of it and two is because of various reports of how damaging they can be in an accident (as read on BCF).

My mother can do the work as she makes clothers of a variety of materials, including leather, for a living. My only worry is, where the hump is unstiched from the suit, will this have a detrimental effect?

Ben

Ha ha very fucking funny. Liked the suit at the time but now it isn't practical and im not paying out several hundred for another! The hump is stitched onto the suit.

If its stiched and your mum Thumbs Up can remove it them it should be fine.
All it will be is a extra piece of leather and some stuffing......

Maybe it could be stuffed in a couple of posters in this thread, as they clearly need to grow up a lot......

wouldnt it be easier to modify the waterproofs? i have done that for mine and it was easy, mine doesent look great as i have minimal sewing skills and a sewing machine from the early 1600's haha Laughing
its better than duffing up a perfectly good suit.

also once you cut it off.. theres no-going back, if you do ruin it.. youll have to buy another suit anyway..

dont let people on BCF scare you about the safety of speed humps, they are not a instant safety risk.
its all...
"if you fall of at this angle at this speed" sort of thing.. no real proof, otherwise they wouldnt allow them.

hope this helps you out matey Thumbs Up Very Happy

another vote for getting bigger waterproofs

if you start restitching your leather, chances are it wont be so strong, which is a bad thing if you crash in it
