NSR 125 vs Saxo 1.4 :)

hi,
i have just got my self a nsr 125 2000 version the other day but cant ride it till im 17 (11th of september)

so i keep arguing with my mate who has a 1.4 saxo and i just want to know who would win ? this will be mainly on roads as i know he will take me on the motorway as he has better top speed.

The NSR has had a scorpion exhaust as i know of about the deristriction

In a drag race you'll kick his arse.
On the motorway/straight bit of road he will be quicker.

I'm guessing you will be going down twisty back lanes and round abouts. Little bikes often struggle a bit with these as acceloration from 40-60 isn't the best. You'll also have to watch out for gravel etc.

Then there is also the weather to consider...

that first bit go me smiling lolll . . well if i tell you the specs
nsr: 0-60 in 5 to 6 seconds top speed 100-110
saxo: 0-60 over 10 seconds not to sure top speed he's topped out at 115

but wont my 40-60 be decent if it can go from 0-60 in 5-6 seconds
we'll be mainly going like around town to lights after light a long streches of road

i would llooooveeee to get a 600 but im only 17 so its looking like a 125 for me now

its probally bound to happen but thats the enjoyment of life plus its a honda so not much to have it repaired hopefully but as long as i win ill be happy loll plus im only having this till i can offered a car as at the mo its £2500+ for my insurance

The saxo will kick your ass because you won't be able to ride the bike anywhere near it's capability, especially on the twisties. Where as any muppet (even a saxo driver) can thow a car round corners at a pretty quick pace.

Just did my a2 test and then got one. restricted it for about 2 months got used to it then took it out. easy.

Loads of posts about it in new bikers section but mine cost 90 for cbt 2 lessons at 90 quid each and the test was 60. And the theory which is about 30. Worth doing if you want to take pillions and use motorways.

Plus as thathornet says you will spank boy racers.

NSR125 is probably fun on a tight twisty road and is a good learner bike, Saxo 1.4 is probably a very practical and economical town car...

but they're both fucking slow in a straight line so who cares which is slowest?

ive got an nsr125 and it absolutley DROPS my cousins 1.4 quicksilver 106

also you will prob find the nsr's brakes are better

i know, i know. usually a cars brakes are better but most of these 1.4 saxos and whatever have shit milk bottle top discs on the front and shitty drums on the back

If it's a de restricted NSR surely it's no longer learner legal and you'll have to do your test to legally ride it anyway as it's produces around 30bhp. You can only ride machines with up to 14.6bhp on provisional, cbt and L plates. No motorways, no pillions until you do your test.

Do your test, riding with L plates is no fun and you won't end up in trouble with the rozzers for riding too powerful a bike whilst you're a learner.

Besides bikes are miles more fun to ride than it is to drive some nasty little saxo. They're power to weight ratio is far better.
