iv got a gilera stalker (54 plate) just wandering if a 50cc big bore kit would make any differance if so know any good (cheap) ones you recemend

that is 50cc, so i take it you mean putting... say, a 70cc bore kit on it.

to be honest i wouldnt bother, waste of time/money. just save the money and put it towards a bike for when your old enough.

ha ha real mature im needin to go faster coz all my mates are 17 and got 125s but im still 16 and stuck with a slow 50cc and although they do poter about at 30mph for me i just feel like a prat for doing i that to them

Boreing it out will invalidate your licence insurance and leave up up shit creek without a paddle IF the police proove this. But if your ok with this. Then it is ok. Just search in google for 70cc kit for your scooter. IMO it's not worth it. How long you got left till your 17? Waste of time and money. Stick a derestricted pipe on it and off you go. You"ll probally blow the scooter up anyways.

police can spot a derestricted moped a mile off..
increased whine, more noise, faster chav thats probably wearing a tshirt.. easy pull over.
Bear in mind, you could probably get a ban...atleast a year or 2, as you are classed as riding outisde of your licence restriction/no insurance.
Its silly how many ped bois give it large around here on their 50cc supe'd up hairdryers...in shorts n no tshirts...amazing.

Saw 2 today as a matter of fact. At a set of lights reving their lawnmowers up. Pull along side and gave in the last big downshift blip. Cool

lights turn and they gun it and look like twats and I then pass them at about 40 up the road.

At TS, if you wait till you are 17, go buy a geared 125, but no doubt, you will be back here asking for more power... my recommendation, take the restricted test...but i still feel you will be back asking for 33bhp derestriction...CANT WIN Razz

take my word im no chav and i wear a proper bike jacket (iv had one off on the ped and if i didny hav my jacket and FULL face helmet id be dead Laughing). im more of a car person so im not sure on a 125 its just noone round my area can pass there drivin test and sold there peds so theyve had to go get 125s and im not loaded enough to splash cash

lol ignore what they all say, this is a bike forum and although its called a ped it still is a motorbike. i got a ped and people take the piss too im not a chav but you get branded with that if you declare you have a moped,

I havent put a 70 bore on a ped i dont see the point but i know for a fact that the you need to spend more money than just on a bore kit.

you will only get about 10 - 15 mph added to your top speed, but if you still want 1 make sure you upgrade the carb so it can handle 70cc, and theres a few other things that escape my mind that you need to do to make it not blow up your engine.

and make sure you wear the jacket and not a t shirt and tracksuit bottoms, and when you do fall off dont post pictures of it.

when i travel at 30, shit loads of peds round this area, n 50cc crossers.. heck even 50cc sports.. overtake, its mental.
Most couldnt care, pretty happy to lose their licence i reckon.
But, if you wanted to do the 70cc upgrade, i say go for it, just need to adjust the other parts too..
just dont take the piss giving it large when you only have 70cc, it will still probably hold you behind your 125 mates.

i have removed the washer in the variator and added a gianelli next exhaust and jetted to suit but i still cant get over 30mph on flat ground Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad . dont get me wrong im not wantin speed to piss about and coz mayhem i need the speed because i live in the middle of nowhere and it takes hours to go anywhere

I would check you've done it wright. My 50 hit an indicated 65. So at least 45 50mph. That had a de restricted exhaust and that's it I belive. So dnt know what happened to yours....… Neutral

how can you have done so much and it only go thirty still, sounds like its restricted in the cdi, that expensive to deristrict.

When you go flat out does it sound like the revs are going up then just keeps reving a bit then not reving then reving again then not revving, if you know what i mean.

There is no way you can only top out at thirty with that done to it they normally hit 50 ish just deristricted.

Sell it, With the money you get you could buy a 50cc Road legal Pit bike.
Drop a YX150 Pit bike engine in. Dremel off the "1" on the barrel so it just says "50cc" rather than "150cc".

You will be allover your mates bikes. It will give DT125s a run for their money up to about 65mph.
Will top out close to 80mph.

Sound 10000x better than a moped.

Or you could do a proper job of it and fit a TZR125 engine.
Then you will give 90% of 125 2strokes a run for their money.

well its sluggish to pull away and once ive hit 30 it squels like a pig but wats wierd is when i go down hills the revs dont change but the speedo just climbs (had it off the clock on one hill). it did at one point revs high then dies down then revs high but that was just because worn spark plug and 200cc jet (sorted that though)
