Not too sure on the year on the R reg, just out of interest, I don't suppose this guy told you that there were any problems with the P reg that you were going to buy? Just sounds to me as if he's a bit dodgy........?

quite bored now as i was expecting new bike today |

Well in the end it's up to on what you do, personally I wouldn't really like the sounds of a bike that he's been having problems with that he's trying to sell you unless, he's totally willing to get a mechanic to check it over and there's a good warranty with it! But just don't let you impatience get in the way of gettin a work biking without any problems!

Thanks. Care to explain why it is cheaper if it is older then? ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. older bikes are generally worth less, and less desirable - ergo cost less to insure.
but since there is only a year in this case the insurance difference will be minimal if any. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

The insurance is generally based on the price you declare the bike to be worth when taking out the policy. That's why older bikes are generally cheaper to insure, worth less. If you declare the same price it should more or less be the same price to insure.
For some reason colour can affect prices on the RS's of that year, the Chesterfield colours were more expensive. I think that was down to the number of thefts at the time though, seems thieves liked the Chesterfields.
I had a silver one on a 97 P, never missed a beat, even with me riding it!
Edit: damn he beat me to it and he was supposed to be having a shower! Not that I'm there watching or anything. |
