I loved my RS125, but when a close friend got a ZXR400 I became very jealous and bought an RVF400.

I think the power output can vary allot. I know it sounds like a teenage pipe dream, but mine was faster then two others I put it up against. I did maintain it to quite a high standard, which can help. It had a top end rebuild at 9000m and I did not run it in what so ever, I know this may have shortened the engine life but I think it helped in getting a couple of extra bhp from the little beast.

It will always feel slow going from a 50-60bhp 400 IL4 to a 25-28bhp RS125 2T. Really, really fun bikes though!

They are really light and fun on the twisties, but in a miss a gear or bog down frustrating way.

The cbr is similar, as you have to keep it in the revs to keep up with the bigger bikes. But. if you do exit a corner in the wrong gear, or want to overtake without changing down, then you can without worry.

The 400 il4's are absolute screamers too, the make a very intoxicating sound at full chat!

I liked how flickable the rs was, and it wasnt a struggle to get pegs doing down on them Laughing
Felt much nicer than getting the sidestand down on the fzr Neutral

Nope Laughing

If it was the Honda rs125, slightly different story, then again it'd be shite on the road.

I wouldn't mind owning a Mito or NSR, but I wouldn't own an RS. Maybe ride one, but not own it Laughing

I dont understand the question...

28bhp 2 stroke that blows up after 10k
Vs
65bhp 4 stroke that the cam chain fails on after 25k

The ZXR is more powerful, better for longer journeys, less hassle in the winter, less maintanence and doesn't require 2 stroke oil. The cam chain issues are a right pain in the arse though, so i'd take another 400 given the option.

Of the two bikes listed, ZXR400 and RS125, which one would you rather have to ride and live with?

Hope that helps. Thumbs Up

ZXR400

With my RS I cannot go anywhere far, it's also an awful commuter especially in winter (4 miles one way).

ZXR400 would give me all what RS gives me + all that above what RS cannot.

I wouldn't mind an RS125 to play around on. I'd much rather have one of those than a ZXR.

RS250 FTW!

(It's becoming a classic and if it's well maintained will possibly go up in value!)

They can be had for less depending on condition! Ridden properly I believe they are one of the most rewarding, intense and fun bikes ever made! Unfortunately I have only had a brief spell on one...
