Okay its 6:24 am and I have just been woken up by my step dad who has just got into from a night shift ( railway ).
He said, " have you seen Tiny this morning dan " I thought he was going to say because he has done a runner or something. I said " no, why?". Dad says . . . "Cus he is dead mate".

I went bed at 3 am ( Its my birthday and all I did was chill at a mates till 9 and came home). My dad left for his night shift about 7 pm so he was only alone like 2 hours and he was fine when I got in.
In three hours my dogs gone from fine to dead.

That sucks donkey balls.

*hug*

The only positive I can give you is that at least he went quietly in his sleep. No fuss with the vets or loads of pain. My lurcher went the same way.

Gutted for you mate.

Ahhh, Biohazard matey ... big hugs,

Almost exactly the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, (and on my birthday too!).

Only it was my [most adored cat in the world], Mingles, so I know EXACTLY how gutted you feel, its like the biggest wrench in your heart that I can think of.

One minute Mingles was fine, fluffy and cuddly with Anita, annoying me by lying down right under my typing chair ... and ten minutes later he was dead, lying on the street outside, as if he was just asleep ... at about half an hour to midnight on the evening before my birthday.

I couldn't believe my eyes, I shrieked and negated in the street, all the neighbours came out to look at the madwoman ... and I howled and howled for HOURS (got tears now, just thinking about how awful it was)

So much BIG BIG BIG hugs for you, lots of hugs and love.

I've still not been able to scatter Mingles' ashes, even now, I keep thinking I will take them out of the box and scatter him in the garden, but I simply can't deal with the suddenness of the whole thing.

Awwww, your poor doggie xxxxx BIG HUGS for you xxxxx

Jen xx

My condolences Biohazard what a truly awful way to wake up Sad

I still well up when I think of my childhood dog and the fun we used to have. He was called shep and whenever Old shep comes on the radio I have to leave the room or blubber like a girl.

Its absolutely gutting isnt it Sad

Ours had epilepsy and died after a fit at half six one morning last february. I had to go to work that day and I couldnt even speak to anyone, I dont think that you can understand how it is until you have a dog yourself.

Really bad news there mate Sad

Its very sad . .
Thanks for all the hugs Very Happy

He was a Neapolitan mastiff.
7 years old.

He will be very missed Sad
He might look like a massive scary dog but he was the most cuddly thing on this planet. Never naughty and he had such a funny personality. He really was an awesome dog.

But . . at the end of the day me and my family know he has had a good 7 years.
If anybody's dog is in the room now with them give it a big love.

My God, mate I so didn't want to feel your pain, but I've just got back from the Vet's as my big boy has just died - today clearly wasn't Big Dog Day Crying or Very sad

This morning he was just old, now he's gone and I'm totally devastated - a piece of me has just died too.

RIP Rio Leonberger - my lovely mate Crying or Very sad

Very sad day mate.

I've only had my pup for 3 weeks, but he has such a personality already, I would be truly gutted if anything were to happen to him. In the 3 weeks I've had him we've been apart for about 10-15 hours (when I've given him to me Ma so I can go to the pub), and I know he's as attached to me as I am to him.

I'm hoping mine has got at least 15 years in him, so to have something happen like this which must be a massive shock is very saddening.

Sorry to hear that.
When I was 11 my dog died. I was walking it in a park, throwing a ball around. I accidently threw it into a bush, and when I'd recovered it the dog was nowhere to be found. After about a minute of looking around I found it on the sidewalk. Hit by a car, the guy didn't even stop!
She died after about 20 minutes on the way to the vet. It was devastating.. Sad

My condolences to you also Tonka he was a fine looking dog. After reading of both your loses the first thing I did when I got in from work was give my dog a big hug.

Hearing things like this can make you stop and think for a second how sometimes we take for granted our little furry friends and assume they will always be there. Cant imagine life without being jumped on and fussed the minute i walk in Sad

Karma to you both today.

My Dog died a while ago, 14 years old, ex-Police Alsatian.

Such a lovely dog, as has been said you really do fall to pieces, they are part of the family.

Condolences to you two, hopefully time heals you quickly. Karma
