I would like to go for a weekend tour soon, leaving Friday returning Tuesday (for work in the morning).
I am based in norfolk, and I'd rather the tour was within the UK, as I've never been on a tour before. In fact, I've not done more than 200 miles on my bike in total since I got it.
I would look toward taking it easy, as I'm virgin to this. So maybe under 500 miles in total.
Okay, so that's not really a tour, but a long ride. But it will be atour in the sense of taking sleeping bags and living on the road, etc.
I am riding an er5, 10,000 on the clock, is it up to it?
Has anyone toured on a er5?
What do I need to consider?
Anyone want to join me? I don't have a date in mind, it's a case of finding a free weekend and a Monday I can take off work.
I want it to be a relaxed road trip/adventure that's out of my comfort zone, but not too far off the beaten track in case of difficulty. ____________________ no regrets, no retreat, no apology.
I've made mistakes in the past, and I apologise for FUCK ALL. |

Piece of piss.
My ER5 has 82,943 miles on it. A 300 miles round trip to Pup's place and back isn't uncommon for it. Previous to my owning it, It would regularly do in excess of 300 miles a day.
As for roadside cover, Go with the RAC. The AA doesn't cover you for recovery if you crash. I got cover 'on the spot' at my local Tesco's, Was planning on calling to join up, but had to nip out for bread and milk. I don't believe it cost me any extra, but even if it did, the price was still low enough for me to consider reasonable. ____________________ Funny, I used to hate being spanked as a child!
