Hey guys i've got a little problem. Well two to be precise Smile haha

Firstly why does my R6 tick while riding. Ill be riding along then slow down and in the 2,000 rpm and 4500 rpm range it ticks/rattles. Also when starting her up from cold it rattles/ticks/clicks like crazy ive got a video here for you to look at.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBGitwHmvdA

Second problem is the fuelling seems off in low rpm. Ill be doing say about 30-40 ish in 4th 5th or 6th gear about around 2,000 - 5000 rpm and while holding the throttle in a constant position the bike judders along .

Had the bike from new last October and i've done nearly 11,000 miles it needs its 12,000 mile service soon and I will tell them my issues but I just wondered if you guys know what is up with my
little baby Smile

Thank you Smile

1st problem is easy, it's the little hamsters that run it. Their claws are a little long and are catching on the hamster wheels. Wink

Or it could need the valve clearances or cct doing.

Fueling seems to be gay on all new fi bikes. My 07 blade does the surging thing, but only at lower speeds. It's really irritating.

very high probability that the ticking is coming from something that is spinning. haha, that will help to narrow it down a bit.

get a thin metal rod, put one end on your ear and move the other end between bits on the bike, this will help you find where the ticking is coming from, then go from there.
it works like a doctors heart-listening thing (techinical term)

you could just leave it untill you go for your service and get them to sort it out, it dosent sound right.

hope this helps a bit. Carl.

Why are you riding at 2k revs Laughing Isn;t the R6 the highiest revving production bike something like 17krpm. I wouldn't have thought anything below 4k would be usable, welcome to IL4's.

Right took it to a dealers. Had the 12,000 mile service, wasnt cheap Sad

Mechanic said the sound of it was normal and it sounds liek any other r6 they have. He said itll be louder when its cold starting which i knew, there shouldnt be anything to worry about there, i still sort of am though Sad Just doesnt sound right to me.

Secondly he said the exup motor and cables were sezured up so he thinks that was my fuel problem causing it to stutter. There ordering a new one from yamaha for free and fitting it at a later date, the exup vavle is now in the open postion all the time, the fuel problem hasnt done it yet but i can feel it still slightly surging in low rpms its frustaiting, i need to go on a long ride to investigate further as last saturday when i went out it was the most annoying thing ever doing 40 -50 mph and the bike shuting off and on constanly on its own. There deffo somthing up. I hope it was the exup thing.

Ask to hear the other bike and also ask for your concerns to be lodged in writing, incase it goes pop the day after the warranty runs out.

Warranty is anther year and a bit to go so i'm fine with that. I've just bought a new AGV helmet and well i cant hear any noise while riding the bike other than the engine itself and a bit of wind.

I went out for a mega blast tonight and well the fuelling were stuttering a bit to begin with and after some hard reving and thrashing the bike ran really nice and smooth in low and high rpm. But ill get on it tomorrow and it'll do same again tomorrow what could it be Sad ?
