Hi. I'm going to phone up about a new job, as a trainee baliff, as i saw there was a position avaliable sort of locally to me. and the job seems to have the potentiol to be something i could enjoy many bits of and actually get somewhere over time.

but, i've only once had to apply for a job, other than that i've worked for people i know or people who know family/friends. so when i phone tomorrow to show my interest, what sorts of things should i be asking?
i know the pay, hours and those sorts of things already. what more can i ask though?

thanks
calum.

You could ask yourself why you want to repossess from people, take away all they have, and chuck them out on the street Wink

Because it's their own fault for buying things they can't afford and probably don't need then can't afford to pay back and suddenly think they have the right to be let off as some sort of charity case? Wink

only serious cases get through to baliff's as far as i know, not someone who misses one payment - someone who hasn't paid a few times or has ignored all of the letters or whatever they've been given - which are all chances to sort it out.

besides, as a trainee i'd only be dealing with unpaid court fines and council taxes i think.

any also, the money isn't too bad, much much better than my current job - and someone has to do it - so why not me?!

i dont see it as a job that's mean to people, and certainly am not the sort of person who takes pleasure in others' missfortune, but a job is a job at the end of the day and its the rest of the bits i'd enjoy.

All bailiffs are cunts.

I'm going to have one knocking on my door again soon. Not my debts, the guy who previously owned or lived in my flat. I've told the bailiff he doesn't live here anymore, so leave me alone. Bailiff wanted me to open the door and discuss it with him.

I told him to come back with a policeman.

Bully boy tactics, on a par with the TV licensing people and the DVLA. If I saw one getting seven shades of shit kicked out him, I'd watch and smile.

it seems that everyone in a job is a cunt though really?
baliffs, mechanics, police,
and people in 'low class' jobs are too?
mcD's staff, shop staff, road men,
that makes just about everyone cunts....except the unemployed...no - they are the worst.

so i see it as a job, better than the one i have now so its a job to go for.

im only asking for advice on what sort of things i should be thinking of asking a prospective employer when i phone them. my only reaosn for giving more info. was to maybe get more specific answers.

Do some research on the job itself, and the company, it does not sound as though you know much about it at the moment. Find out what type of person they are looking for, there will be a person spec somewhere, then at least it will show you have looked into it.

That said, I suspect all you will have to ask for is an application form!

You forgot scum, vermin and filth. Too stupid to become police officers, too lazy to become traffic wardens, not enough social skills to be a bouncer.

Ask if you have to wipe the copier after use.

You could start with:

"How long should I feed off the misery and poverty of others before doing the decent thing and lobbing myself under a passing bus?"

what jobs do all of you have then that makes you model citizens in our wonderful country where only 'cunts' do jobs?

and...most bouncers i've seen are more miserable than most people i've ever met - and i worked in a nightclub for nearly 2 years with them.

about what?

the question was - advice on what to ask when phoning up about a job. the only reason i mentioned what the job was, ws to maybe get more specific answers or even help about the whole thing.

it wasn't meant to be about balif's being good or bad people.
