Right, I've been thinking about getting an aftermarket exhaust for my 2008 ER-6n because the stock exhaust is just far too quiet.

My criteria are exceedingly shallow, in that all I want is for it to be loud and not look too out-of-place on the bike; I'm not interested in improving performance since I'm still on an A2 license and when the restriction is lifted that'll be a big enough upgrade on its own. Ideally the exhaust will come as road-legal (and have the appropriate markings) but will give me the sound I want after removing baffles or whatever.

After doing extensive research on YouTube Wink I've decided I like the sound of the following 3 exhausts:

ER6n with REMUS exhaust

ER-6f with Scorpion Exhaust

2006 Kawasaki ER6-n with Two Brothers Ti Pipe

Out of those 3 my favourite sound is the Two Brothers exhaust.

Does anyone have any experience/opinions on these exhausts? I've had trouble finding someone in the UK who sells the Two Brothers one ... anyone know where I can get one?

I have zero (and I mean zero) mechanical ability ... how easy are these to fit? I'm happy to buy the exhaust and let the dealer fit it if it's even a little bit difficult.

Hello mate

I have a kawasaki versys, pretty much the same exhaust. And I've been thikning the same too, what to go for - quite fancy the twin ixil cans but they're bloody expensive - £520 all in.

I'd suggest you go for the cheapest option and just get an MTC from eBay. They'll sound just as good for less money.

I fitted a Scorpion exhaust to my ER6. Good quality, reasonably easy to fit, sounds a lot better than stock, and like Lucifer's little brother with the baffle out.

Did cock up the fuelling a little at around 3k or so, couldn't be bothered to go down the Power Commander route, so went back to standard (besides, the bike will be sold soon anyway).

The fuelling? What happens if the fuelling is screwed up?

Just had a thought, are there removable baffles in the stock exhaust, or any other way to make it louder?

Does that mean you have it going spare? Wink

The fuelling as stock is reasonably smooth, but the Scorpion, without a Power Commander, made the bike jerky around 3.5k or so - just where I needed the bike to be when cruising through town.

There's no removable elements in the stock exhaust as far as I'm aware - the can also contains the bike's cat.

Sorry Instigator, sold the can a month or so ago.

Considering ER6 downpipes have a reputation for snapping I would leave well alone until the bike is out of warranty.

Do you think even just a slip-on would still snap the downpipes?

This idea's seeming more and more complicated what with the Power Commander stuff and everything ...

Would adding a slipon still mean the catalyitc converter would have to be removed? Is that even legal?

Suspect the problem would be getting a warranty repair if you have changed the end can.
