paddock stands

any suggestions?
you see some for £30. some for £230 that look identicle.

anyone care to shed some light

i've seen cheeper ones that flex and can drop the bike.
Micron were pretty good value, sturdy but not too expensive. If you can still get them.
I treated myself to a really expensive Harris stand. Really stable and the only hook stand i've found i can use by myself.

Not tried any of the more expensive ones, but got a motrax one for £40 that does the job well enough. Thumbs Up

Well, mine is made of solid gold encrusted with diamonds and with a mink lined handle. It's a bit heavy and quite weak but I think the aesthetics speak for themselves really, well worth spending the extra.

Mine's a cheap universal stand which is a pain to say the least.

So much that now I bolt on the newly acquired centrestand and use that. No spring on it so I cannot leave it on.

damn cheap but study enough and work damn well. had the bike up on them the day after they arrived messing about refitting bits and bobs and had no problems bashing bits about

I got one of those £30 Bike It ones, it did the job for a few years then started to flex like hell and was generally a bit shit.

Recently splashed out on a Harris one and you really can notice the difference. It's much more sturdy, better design, better quality wheels. Yes it's double the price, but IMO it's worth it. (And Harris are local to me. Laughing )

i bought one of the german brand ones at hein gericke, and aside from the fact that there were no english instructions (and the wheels were extra) it seems decent quality.

Same, I could have gone for the collapsible one, but I thought nah.

BTW on mine I've had to hacksaw part of the hook off so I can get a socket onto the rear axle bolt, did you have to do the same?

(Could be the position of the bobbins on my bike of course.)
