Tonight at 8 O'clock I will be picking up my new DT125r.
Its been turned into a bit of a supermoto. Small wheels, road going tyres, competition forks renthals blah blah blah ( I will post a pic later ).
Just a few q's.
When I need to refresh the 2 stroke is it okay to mix to different types/make of oil ?
What is a really good 2 stroke to be running it on ?
What can I expect from the bike ? anybody owned one.

Anybody got anything I should be looking out for when owning one ?
Its just had a new chain and sprocket set.
New piston and barrel.
Spark plug.
New tyres.
And BIG ONE exhaust.
Just any useful info on the bike would be great.I have never owned a 2 stroke Wink

normally semi synthetic 2stroke is good enough though you can use fully synthetic but it much more expensive to do so, personally i wouldn't mix 2 stroke and a good make is castrol or shell. depends on what you had before this bike e.g if you had a 125 sports bike 4 stroke it should be abit faster but not much difference, the ridding style and it should be much lighter than most bikes.

hope i helped

No, I've heard they can react together and make a gunge or something, although I've never owned a stroker, and perhaps it was only in the old days.

Its reccommended not to mix them but personally never gave me any issues when i did it,

Good oil - Castrol TTS Power1 around 13 quid in halfords check other shops they may sell it cheaper this is a fully synth oil.

You can expect lower gearing than a similar size RS, id be thinking 85ish.. maybe 90 real

Like all 2strokes warm her up good, like ride her not in the power till shes warm, use good quality 2stroke and maintain her or she'll break.

Depends what year and what mods. Ive had two.
I had a showroom condition 2004 model. The best one before it went ugly.
It was stolen in 4-5 months. EVERY scum fuck wants it mate, so bolt it to the fucking ground...they made there way through the big chain i had and the steering lock.

Things i found with the older DTR's. The adjustments on the back wheels can become fucked, make sure they're not or it is a pain in the ass.
People never clean the shocks if taken a little off road, this isn't good for them.

Other than that, just the same with any bikes. I just find people abuse them and they can take it, look for seizing brake calipers, perishing piping and frame damage. If only used on the road she should be fine. Very strong engine, and decent power valve system. Thumbs Up
