I just noticed that Sven on Superbikeforums did a review of an item called the Muvi, what do you guys think?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7mrwerNm-4
make sure to watch the video in HD!!

just found out that you can get them for 55 quid delivered from the uk. This also includes the SPorts Pack which includes various straps etc.

2GB MicroSD Card
5V UK Mains Adapter
USB Data and Charging Cabe

There may be cheaper one's on eBay, but they don't include the 20 quid sports pack!!

Just found 8gb SD cards for them, 10 quid deliverd if you're interested. They're class 6 which means they're the fastest you can buy with a write speed of 6 MB/s

Footage at speed looked a bit blurred and got wobbly with fast movement, so not ideal for bike stuff I'd say. Still better than an ATC at least.

Seems ok for the price and a very nice size.

i'm quite tempted to get one, I suppose with it's weight/size it can be easily taped to view the front wheel, exhaust, rear wheel etc.

I've got one and trust me the footage is actually VERY good for the price of the thing and it's bloody tiny. I broke the mount it came on because I stood on it but it doesn't really matter but you can duct-tape/bluetac it to anything.

I'd so go for it!

It looked quite good, and useful for my 1st trip round Spain on the bike in September, so I bought one.

I paid £55 - https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AEE-MD80-mini-camcorder-DVR-DV-digital-spy-camera-t-rex_W0QQitemZ120456022972QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CCTV?hash=item1c0bbd0bbc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Found a couple of reviews that say it will work when connected to USB for charging - so may rig up a cig lighter socket usb charger (e.g. for Blackberry) and see if that works.

Dae

EDIT : These ones don't include the sports pack (can be found for ~£15) which I hadn't noticed was included in the ones that the OP originally linked to.

looks pretty good definetly be considering one of those. I like the fact it has its own battery and stores straight to sd, no other recording device required etc.

I won't, purely because it's not waterproof. Very impressive, if they could waterproof it, I'd defiantly get one.

I've seen a lot of reviews around the net talking about how jerky the video can be at times. I think it's because of the shitty cheap memory card you get with it. I threw away the 2gb that came with it after running some read/write speed tests which were really REALLY bad and just bought a 4gb Sandisk from Play.com which was £15. It still has jerks here and there but it has reduced a lot of it.

Little tip for all of you Thumbs Up

I was going to order one of these last night when they were £55 but see they've now gone up to £65!

Those who have bought one; do you still think it's worth it?

I've re-edited the link, the reason they were 55 quid is because they didn't have the sports pack included. So I put the 65 quid link back up because it includes this.

Looks impressive.

I bought the version with the sports pack. I'll give a more in depth opinion once I receive the camera.

Thumbs Up

Thanks for clearing that up Neo. I've just ordered the one with the sports pack and will also provide a brief review of it once it has arrived.

Cheers, Ryan.

Sorry for the confusion - I realised about the sports pack afterwards. I didn't originally see it listed in your original post. I saw all the other stuff and compared them before purchase but obviously the sports pack slipped past me.

Luckily I managed to put a bid in on a sports pack only and get it for £10 including delivery, so didn't end up paying over the odds in the end.

I also managed to find some class 6 SDHC 8GB micro SD cards for £10.89 with free shipping, so I grabbed a couple of those as well.

Just had a quick search and I think this is the one he's referring to:

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8GB-CLASS-6-MICRO-SD-SDHC-MEMORY-CARD-FOR-NOKIA-N95-E90_W0QQitemZ220381203959QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_AudioTVElectronics_PDAsAccessories_MemoryCards?hash=item334fbe4df7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Just ordered one myself! Thumbs Up

Guys the whole point is you DONT buy cheap media. It's cheap for a reason, the slow read/write speeds.

Never buy memory cards off eBay because even if they're branded they're usually fake. www.play.com - get it off there.
