My bikes going in for its 600 mile service later this week and wasnt sure if its going to cost £50 or £250.

What sort of work do they do on the bike?

and what sort of prices did you get charged for your bike.

My bikes a Gilera SC 125, same as the Derbi Gpr 125, the dealer is a Gilera, Vespa and Piaggio Dealer.

Let me know, Thanks.

Phone up and ask mate.

£50? £100?

No-one knows the garage and garages can charge whatever the hell they want to be honest.

Italian dealership?
£5000. Laughing
Your owner's service manual should detail the service intervals and the work that is undergone. If you haven't got this then you might as well be doing the work yourself as that's what they stamp for your warranty.

Probably an oil change to remove all the metal debris from a newly run in engine, and ensuring all fasteners etc are tight enough.

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper.

great news thanks lol Thumbs Down

i dont get a service book untill i take it for its first service.. sadly.

i asumed they would just change the oil, change the spark plug, give it a quick once over, probly less than an hours labour.

i also need to take it to that dealer because there is other work that needs doing to the bike, Free under warranty.

1st service should be free....

Well they always used to be, other than having to pay for a bit of oil.....

All they will do is change oil and check a few nuts for tightness.

i was told that, work labour is free, i only pay for parts, wasnt sure if it was just bullshite, i done a quick search for "first service price" and seen alot of £150 and $250 on google, so asumed im going to paying £100+

no race exhaust for me then Sad

I've just had the frame plates done on mine as a recall

it all has to come apart so they can drill & tap a couple of holes in there so they'll have it a couple of days

I would be writing to the manufacture and explaining that they have to supply the service book FOC or you will be seeking advice from trading stds and their restrictive practise....

I would also question their price for the 1st service. You can legally take the bike to any dealer and have this done.
Try ringing round a few others that supply your bike and see what they charge.

No way should you be charged for a service book.

i bought the bike second hand with just 90 mile on.

i asked him if he had the service book or warranty book (if there is such thing?) and he said i should get the service book when it goes in for its first service.

i have found out since, you get 2 keys, a tool kit & service book with the bike when you buy it.

the man in the garage also said that the key i have is just a 'cut' key and not the original or spare Neutral

sounds like iv been abit ripped off maybe??
