nsr125 gearbox oil change

hi everyone.
can someone please help me? i have bought a 1990 nsr125 and i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to change the gearbox oil and which oil to use. Also if anyone could tell me what engine oil to use. I just thought fully synthetic oil would be ok but my freind suggested mineral oil which he uses in his mito......any help would be great. thanks

Silkolene light 10W40 oil for the garbox is what i've heard is good (what I used), and Silkolene Comp 2 Injector is good.

Choose a type and stick to it.

ok thanks. but how exacly do i do it. i aint got a manual or nothin and ive had a look but i dont want to start undoing nuts and bolts without knowing what im doin first

Don't use mineral 2 stroke oil - its arse. Like Jammy said, Silkolene Comp 2 Injector is good, or one of the alternatives. Its a semi-synthetic and should cost you around £6 a litre.

Funny you should post this thread now actually, my friend is on his way round now and we are going to change his on his NSR.

Ok he didn't bring his manual because it's not needed. Just look underneath your oil tank there should be a bolt, take out the bolt and make sure you have some container to drain it into. Take off the left side fairing to gain access.
