Just a bit of fun, I was wondering in work today where the silliest place people had worn their bike gear was? I've seen the usual pictures of people doing KD's on those rocky things in kids play areas and full leathers and helmets on motorbike arcade games but has anyone done anything a bit more unusual?

Here's my effort:

Toboggan in work, I had to wait untill it'd closed for the day and all the tourists had gone home before my manager would let me do this! There were a few stragglers who thought it was funny though Laughing

By the way, pics or it didn't happen.

I was thinking I want a go on that tobogan run, then I realised I met you, and it cant be far away from betsy coed.

So whats the name of the tourist place you work at ?

I still reckon you should get some protective bike trousers though. Loads on ebay.

I work at the Ski Slope in Llandudno, pays the bills... Just. I think in total I've done about 700ish runs of that toboggan!

I don't think the toboggan really needs protective bike trousers Razz

Yeah I really should though, I need to fix my bike first though!!!

There's a pic of me in full race leathers, boots and helmet and racing-novice vest riding a Unicycle, around somewhere.

A few years ago I had to get a diplomatic passport and visa from London to Glasgow overnight. The owner was flying early the next day so couriers were, not surprisingly, quoting big numbers for a guaranteed 6am delivery.

So I booked myself on a Heathrow to Glasgow flight and raced to the airport. Left the bike in the bike park and got on the plane in full leathers carrying my helmet. Got a few funny looks from other passengers, but the air stewards were great.

Got to Glasgow, ran back through security to give the documents to the diplomat and made it back to the same plane as it turned around and headed back to London. I didn’t even have to check in. A clipboard wielding dude just added me to the manifest and ushered me onboard.

So I had left work about 4pm, travelled to Glasgow and back and was home by 9pm. The bonus was dinner served on the way up and again on the return, plus a rucksack full of bottles of wine because the stewards felt sorry for me not being able to drink on the flight. I think they liked all the black leather. Shocked

No pics because this was before they invented cameras. Wink

Loving this thread! To be honest I think some of these biking fundamentals should be a part of your CBT, fancied going to the beach at the weekend but leathers aren't really appropriate and I can't get the gears with my flip-flops on. What expert advice can you offer?

On a similar note I was out on a ride one evening last week and got a call to drop in and see an "old friend". Only once I arrived did I realise not only did I have no trousers below my leathers but I was also wearing dirty pants. Luckily a quick toilet break took care of the latter and she didn't think to question why I was riding around butt naked.
