Yes, because I was toying with the idea of getting cross-plys put on my VFR.

Fuck off.

We didn't want to know to start with, so sod off. Cheap tyres are a false economy, and listing the fact that they're radials as a sales point isn't doing much to promote them...

Signs up 2 days ago, no profile info, no location, no email, no noob "hi" thread, and the very first thing he thinks to do is to post a rather poor marketing spiel about a set of tyres from Busters.

Not a great way to start off your forum life.

Given that he set up an account specifically to post about said crap offer, I class that as spam. Look at his post count and account age.

While I didn't get that particular email from buster's, I'm ok with being spammed by buster's to my email address, but I really don't like it happening on the forum, you know?

Hmm... most people open with "Hi peeps im new ere!!! cn u tell me wots faster a red bike or a blue un!! lolz!!!!11!one!!" rather than an advert for tyres.

If he's genuine it's a hell of a starting point karma-wise... introduction fail.

I was a member Mudskipper.

For some reason I couldn't log in using my old username and had to reregister.

Still, no matter, probably won't bother again, too many ignorant people on here.

So I will just occasionally have a read of the "Failed my Mod 1 today" post's and keep my advice to myself.

Probably don't need any Instructors input with you Riding Gods to give the advice.

You're missing the point: Radials are the de facto standard on most modern bikes, which is why I was saying that it's a bit of a crap sales point. You don't sell a car by saying 'Look - it's got 4 wheels!', you sell it by advertising interesting/new facts about the product in question.

I honestly didn't think that relatively low-level sarcasm would be that far beyond you... Doh!

As above. Sarcasm.

Reread your original post and explain to me how that spiel, as a member's *first* words to the rest of the forum, isn't spam. If you're a genuine member you played your entry very poorly.

Even if you had just mentioned the email from Buster's, asked if any of us had tried the tyres and nodded in the general direction of Buster's web site, you still probably wouldn't have got away with it. Your post may as well have had a "your home may be at risk..." disclaimer stapled to the bottom of it.
