no. plate light?

i have read its a legal requiriment to have a no. plate light but i have changed my undertray so i know no longer have one

i have seen some after market ones like

and other are these any good as they are led im a bit warey, has any body used this style or even got any ideas on the best way around in putting a light on

As long as there is a light there it will pass an M.O.T.

Mopeds are exempt.

Yep, had the same problem with my tail tidy and undertray and bought some of those little LED ones. I opted not to use them in the end and bought a different type of light in the end as not happy with results.

If the plate is directly under the tail light, you can drill a hole in the bottom of the tai light lens and cover it with a blob of clear epoxy.

This fulfills the requirement for a white light shining down on the plate. Some bikes came out of the factory like that.

Mine only had a tiny single white LED. Passed MOT no problem.

I got an advisory at my last mot for the numberplate light not working.

Does make you wonder if its needed.

yeah it does i've seen people riding on a night and getting pulled for not having it lit up not sure what the pen is though

im sure last time when i got it MOTed i didnt have one fitted and it passed?

but if it only needs to be there and works on and off ill just by one and stick it on as i wont be doing much night time travel plus my rear light does shine quite alot of light on to it allready
