Hello and welcome.

You will have to be 16 to do your CBT, my son did his on his 16th birthday.

If I remember corrrectly you can apply for your licence two months before Thumbs Up

Don't worry to much about the weather mate after all I'm guessing you will be riding your bike all year round so will have to go through it at some point. As long as it's fine enough to get out on the ride section ( they almost canceled mine on the CBT because of stupidly high winds ) then enjoy it its good fun Thumbs Up

Course you can. The only problem is getting it to the training center. You can trailer it or get someone with a licence and insurance to ride it for you but don't whatever you do try and ride it there yourself. That way disaster lays Thumbs Up

And keep us updated Karma

Welcome to BCF and good luck with the CBT.

I did mine in the snow so don't worry too much about doing it in December! Mr. Green

What clancy said Thumbs Up

It's merely training to prepare you for the road.

If I could offer any advice to you it would be to read a copy of the highway code cover to cover and then read it again before you go for your CBT. Not because you need it especially to be signed of the training but because you will be a million times safer on the road.

Thumbs Up agreed. knowing road markings before hand will help, first experience on the road can be pretty daunting, the less you need to worry about the more fun you'll have

Havent heard of anyone being shafted for it but why would you want to derestrict it. at least give it a few months before making that decision. Don't run before you can walk matey.

Yeah don't even worry about your CBT. Its more like a lovely day out than anything else. Just enjoy yourself mate.

And the only way your could ever fail it was if you couldn't go in a straight line. A guy who did his CBT with me didn't speak/understand a word of English as he was Polish. He didn't do any of the manuevers the instructor asked him to, and just rode the bike with us for a few hours and was still awarded the certificate.

Hope you enjoy the experience! Thumbs Up

Just a bit worrying when you are already wanting to derestrict it before you have done the CBT. I'm a firm believer in your life your choice though mate so crack on but keep it shiney side up Thumbs Up
