Bought a new car stereo from ebay & it had the following wrong with it.

- The item wasn't new, in fact it has some scuffs on it & down the sides where it was previously fitted.

- Didn't come with the ISO connector as stated in the listing.

- Didn't come with the cage which you can't do without.

Just asked him for a refund, but what's the betting i'll have a hard time getting it.

If it goes through paypal, all he has to say is the item isn't in the condition as when he shipped it to me.

+1, Especially for car stereos, you know there is a 90% chance its nicked anyway! scrapes down the side, no ISO lead, no cage, kinda sounds to me like it was removed in a hurry for some reason!

It's not nicked as it at least came with the little bag & box. Very Happy

It's hard not to use ebay, especially when buying as you can get some real bargains, like a mobile i just bought. But then you get the odd listing like the above which really annoys me.

I've had trouble with a seller on ebay too recently, but with a minor item rather than something like your stereo. It still puts you off using the site at all when you find sellers that clearly aren't supplying what they are advertising. Sad

Start a dispute, Paypal will side with the buyer and give you a full refund.

& in the end you're only going to ask for a refund so it's not even worth it.

The last item that I sent back to the seller (after a while arguing about the quality and me opening a dispute through ebay) not only did I lose out by having to pay the postage for the return, but when the seller finally refunded me he must have just sent me a payment via paypal rather than a refund of a payment made. That meant that paypal took a fee out of the payment he sent back to me. It had been so much hassle to get to that point that I just wrote off what I was out of pocket rather than chase it even further, at least I got the bulk of my money back. Sometimes ebay just drives you barmy! Rolling Eyes

The seller asked me to return the item but i said i want to do this through paypal as it's all recorded.

He doesn't seem to want to do it that way tho. If i did do it without payal i have no protection whatsoever. If he doesn't want to then i'll escalate to a claim.

One other thing, if i send the item back & he says the item isn't as he sent it, what can i do?

Thanks.

This is f**king ridiculous

I've just received 2 negative feedbacks to which are both unfair

Feedback 1: I sold an item on ebay, buyer didn't pay or respond to my emails, i made a non-buyer complaint to get my fees back. The buyer then left negative feedback because of this.

Feedback 2: I sold a box load of DVDs the buyer wasn't happy with some of my descriptions so took it up with paypal, paypal went in my favor as buyer didn't send proof of postage within time limit. Buyer then lied & said i didn't communicate to which i replied to every email, even asking him to send DVDs back, to which 'I' didn't receive a response.

The result? My ebay account is suspended for 30 days.

you can request to have the negative feedback removed by having the case investigated.
as for the lieing customer, you need to get hold of an ebay worker, talk to them and im sure theyll personally investigate the matter, and with copies of e-mails etc they can prove everything in your favour. hopefully solving both matters? dont think it would be easy to get hold of an ebay worker though.
does that make sence?

leigh.
