I have been running on my CBT or they last 8 years or so, however I am looking to get a decent 125 however thinking along the price wise if i passed my test I can then get what I want at a better price.

My ideal bike would be a Honda ST1100, however am i being a bit ambitious going from a 125 to a 1100?

For reference I am 7 17 or so stone quite tall, and by no means a boy racer speed does not do it for me.

Any feedback, just that I want to go for a day course and do the DAS then jump on my ideal bike .

Thanks

Tim

Depends, Insurance may be high. The Pans are pretty heavy, it may be worth getting a step up bike for a year like a Deauville.

Riding the 50cc, I had a blat on my Dad's ST1100 and didn't find it a handful at all. It was very heavy but still quite nimble. Also found as long as you keep the right wrist in check the bikes lovely to ride, very comfy and fast when you need it to be!

Insurance for me next year coming from a 50cc to a 125cc, then getting a Panny 3 months later or so is £800 (17 years old) and the Panny is an 'S' reg.

Hope that helps! Thumbs Up

You mean you've been riding for all those years with the original CBT certificate?

You sound like you have the build for a bigger bike so that at least isn't a problem. CC wise I made the step from just about the slowest 125 you can get onto a 750 sports and never had any problems doing so.

I found the bigger bike much more stable and much easier to control and as long as you don't push the the envelope to hard for a while you should be fine.

you`re a big enough chap to ride it and so long as you remember it`s not an ER5 it won`t bite you.
