My First Tour!

Hi Guys (and Girls),

I'm off to big old europe on Thursday, going to Brussels, Strasbourg, Zug, and Reims on a 5 day tour.

We will be checking out these places;

I'm so excited I could shit myself in half

anyway....

I've given my bike the once over, checked all the fluid levels and oil etc, freshly oiled the chain and am replacing front pads tonight as theres not a lot left on them.

I do however have no idea what other essentials I really need to take with me asside from the ovbious changes of socks and pants!

What essentials do I need for a 5 day sting across europe? I've got plenty of petrol money (£300 in Euros and £300 in Swiss Francs).

Does anyones have any survival tips in regard to an aching backside? I did a 250 miles stint over the Brecons in wales on saturday and boy my ass hurt by the time I got home!

Any advice is much appreciated

All those three passes are amaizing. Did em around 3 weeks ago. Furkapass is quite fast. Dont forget to buy your sticker at the top and expect fog. Enjoy!

P.S stay in Interlaken if you can, its on the foot of the Jungfrauhoch and is full of jung fraus... but theyre mainly drunk and american !

true, but you could find cheaper or use a 2nd hand mountain bike gel seat and bodge it, although ive never tried to.

Bear in mind that if you use the Swiss motorways you need to buy an annual Vigenette at about £30, so for a short trip you're best to avoid them completely. All three passes are some of the best around, just hope for clear weather so you can see the views.

plus Reflective jacket (useful + legally required). Also, reflective stickers in case you are told to put them on your lid.

Any suggestions on where to buy reflective stickers?
