Shes only 15 now and not 16 until march next year but she has her heart set on buying one now so it's ready to go.

She wants a supermoto style one with gears (i talked her out of buying a scooter Laughing )

So what's the best kind of thing to go for?

APRILIA SX 50
APRILIA RX50
DERBI GPR 50
DERBI SENDA 50
GENERIC TRIGGER SM 50
CPI SM 50
Or theres the chinese 50cc aswell. Are these still not worth looking at yet?
She only wants a 50cc until she's old enough to ride a 125cc ;but it would be nice to keep some re-sale value for when the year is up.

Is it worth buying brand new?

Thanks
Dave

I had a SX50, awesome bike.

Indicated 65 down hill Thumbs Up Laughing

Easy to fix, nice handling. Nice and light

Parts are imported from italy. So when the stop working it takes 2 weeks to get a part, and aperently easy to steal Sad

But all in all a good bike.

I know it's not on the list but don't bother getting a DT50. Parts are near impossible to find. Id not go chinese or brand new either because you will loose alot of money on depreciation for just a years motoring and chinese bikes are still not upto the mark with quality.

I would go for the aprilia or derbi.

I had a CPI SM and it was a dog. Its made in taiwan aswell so nearly as bad a chinese bikes. The generics are in the same boat aswell

Aprillia it is then Thumbs Up SX50 seems to be high on her list.

She's very tall so the seat height wont be a problem Very Happy

DERBI GPR 50, i had one of these, quite low seat height, good protection from weather, for a 50.
tbh, what ever she goes for, i think we can all agree it would be easier to choose if we had pics Wink
