I'd choose the speed triple over the CB1000r as the triple is so much cooler.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

no but i was thinking kill switch like you get on jet skis...and i dont recall their bikes having the chords.

i stand to be corrected mind..

will have a bike asap and fly through the tests of course !

A killswitch is any sort of switch that kills the engine. I guess Jet Ski's have the cords because a jet ski can continue on by itself without falling over, whereas in *most cases bikes fall over.

look for a red switch on the handlebars and switch it.

*eg. geri's thread where the stunt bike decides it's had enough and makes a break for freedom.

Hang on, if they own the bikes in question why don't they find a quiet stretch of dual carriageway and test them against each other?

So whats the need to use the kill switch ie in what circumstances, no prizes for pointed out this is proberly a stupid question ?

as for them racing i refer to one of my first lines in opening post

And why it matters when they are nowhere near to using them to anywhere near full potential.

A killswitch is for killing the engine when the bike is lying on its side. I guess it could come in useful if the key has snapped off or something if you've dropped the bike or come off. It could also come in handy if your throttle cable sticks open (and you don't have 2 cables). It's also a pretty obvious switch that non bikers will likely find if you're injured or something.

You say it matters because your brothers CANNOT use their bikes to their full potential.

I say it doesn't matter for exactly that reason because neither bike will be faster than someone on a 600cc sports bike that knows what they're doing (and some that don't but have the balls to open it up). Rolling Eyes

They shouldn't have bought litre bikes if they can't ride them. They should have got a street triple and a hornet or something. They'd probably have more fun on them anyway. (So I don't offend anyone I am not saying these because I think they are lesser bikes, just because they are smaller and less powerful.I love both these bikes, especially the street triple.)

Being a better rider gives you some bragging rights. Doing the whole "my bike is faster than yours" just makes you look like a cock.

thanks on the kill switch
As for a 600cc bike , yes that will be me blowing them away, caus i dont mind if im the cockdude or the cuntdude !

Out of interest, how come you didn't know where the killswitch off if you have a bike and a licence? It's one of the first things taught on CBT.

So, why have you got a 600 when you can't ride it to it's full potential - should have got a 400 Wink.

To the OP - which better, apples or oranges, which is faster when thrown? That question makes as much sense as yours.
More to the point, the answer is it doesn't matter, unless, as suggested, they bought the bikes purely for bragging rights and not to enjoy the riding. If so, they made a very poor choice.
