What's the best way to dry out my boots? Obviously the tumble dryer isn't too fond of them and tries to spit them out every two minutes meaning I have to prop something up against it to keep its gob shut. We don't have enough sun in Scotland to leave them "on the line". The oven goes down to 100 degree celcius which is too high...

I have to wash/dry them atleast once, maybe twice a week.

So annoying, i had to suffer a soggy left foot today because the boot wasn't dry.

Looking like the tumble will just need to keep getting a beating unless there's a better idea out there.

My dad used be a football referee, he used to stuff his boots with newspaper to absorb all the water.

It can take a while but if you wack it up to its top heat, its probably about the same as the tumble dryer lol

Another random tip about the tumble is to put the boots in an old pillow case, stops it banging around so much and so might keep the tumble's door shut.

yup tried the towels thing but they still manage to boot the door open frickin' things. Got newspaper in them just now, will try the hairdryer in the morning (it's got to get used for something).

Why is something so simple such a pain in the rear. Wellies, there's an idea.

If my Karting boots ever get wet I just rest them upside down on a radiator overnight, tends to work a treat.

(Or failing that, hairdryer.)

Upside down, on a radiator.

But I tend to but my boots in my car, with the heater on its highest setting, facing down to the foot well.
It works well if you make say a 30 min journey.

Being *ahem* summer the radiators are never on but when they are I usually do that for my gloves. Don't have a car so no footwell/heater on full blast for me. No airing cupboard either.

The boots used to be reasonably water resistant (Sidi Vertigo) but not so much anymore. I'm planning on getting a second set (more enduro type) and just keep the Sidi's for road stuff but for now it's wash, dry, get dirty & wet, wash, dry...

I've seen these things called boot gaitors, I believe, just like bags you put your boot into and the elastic seals the top.. look stupid and probably aimed at Americans.. still, just thought I'd mention that.

I remember an advert in Trail Bike Magazine for a purpose made boot dryer that plugged into the mains. It just blew cold air through them so they dried more quickly but didn't shrink, crack or change to fit only people with club feet.

Well you probably can. Thing is though they get really wet, doing jumps and landing in big puddles (on the bike, not just running about the streets) gets them drenched.

Yeah the newspaper works a treat! Put paper in them last night and just left them and they were dry this morning. I've only gone at got them bloody soaked again though haven't I?

p.s. the newspaper I used was The Sun.. not sure Heat magazine would have worked though, not that I have Heat magazine
