cagiva freccia. one for Keith i think

Hi all,
im presuming the cagiva freccia was a forerunner to the mito?
does anyone know what type/size of carb was fitted to this bike as standard?
does it share any common parts with the mk1 mito? (the twin round headlight type)

Hi

They used a 28mm Dellorto PHBH carb.

The engine and power valve are pretty much the same between the late C12R and the early Mito.

You have tweaked my interest though. Why are you asking?

just curiosity, as ones breaking on ebay, & i wondered if i could salvage any parts for my mk1 mito.
but i have the ignition coil & switch from it, (i hope they fit! but i got them for peanuts, lol) & my mito has the 28mm carb.
the guys breaking it, which seems a shame & i dont think he realises what some of the parts are worth.
might be some bargains to be had....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it also shares parts with the Moto-Morini Dart 350

Hi

Some bits. The Dart was conceived to use the Freccia C9 chassis with the Morini 350 V twin engine. However they did change a load of things (the Dart fairings do not have the cut outs to get at the spark plugs, the Dart frame has been stretched to be wider apparently).

Weird bit is if you look at the Dart wheels. The Dart came out early on but uses the wheels from the later Freccias. If you look at the Dart rear wheel you can see that they just turned it round so the chain was on the correct side (hence on the Dart the spokes go different ways between the front and rear wheels).

I always disliked them when they were out as they were styled too much on the Ducati Paso for my liking but now I quite like the look of the old 'arrow'

Styled by the same guy. Not so keen on the C9 but do like the C12R. The colour scheme on the Dart seems to suit the shape more than those used on the C9s.

I still need to get me a Mito (mk2) or something similar as these bikes remind me of growing up and dreaming of what I wanted to own whilst buzzing about on my 125lc

Showing my age here; my old mate nearly bought an Aprilia Europa when they first came out

I still think the Mito Evo is one of the best looking bikes ever.

Never had a Europa but did buy a Futura new (which I sold in 1993 and bought back last year).
