Thinking about ordering a set of these... https://www.nuetech.com/tubliss.shtml

Will probably order from America to save money as UK dealers charge around £99 each.

Anyone had any first hand experience or know of anyone using them?

I haven't, but I'm also planning on ordering a pair too, so if it does come out cheaper, might be worth ordering together to save postage.
Anyone know anyone in the US who could get them, then send them on as a "here's the Tubliss you borrowed back so you don't have to pay tax" or something Smile.

Is he prepared to send them as a non-comercial thing etc, to try and avoid paying taxes?
About £165 if you have to pay taxes or £130 if not.
Either way, might as well ask him about a second pair as it'll be cheaper anyway - can always see if he'll knock a bit off for the double order to Smile.
I'd be looking at them in the 18+21 as well.

Someone from my local trf has some, and he says :

Quote:
I have put one in each wheel. Simple to fit. Need to drill a slightly larger hole to fit rimlock.
Punctures - had one in each wheel - not very impressed.
Front puncture - large nail hole. Rode back to car on the road at up to 40mph - tyre stayed on rim but felt very unstable off-road. I replaced the tyre.
Rear puncture - small split in tyre. Rode it flat all day - completed the ride and it felt ok, just a little soft. At home put some tyre sealant in as it was a new tyre and it is now fine - no problems.

My thoughts now - i will carry some tyre sealant with me rather than put it in the tyre as this seems the cheapest way.

Also I find it difficult to seal the air in the tyre. The front is perfect but the rear only lasts one day. I've tried re-fitting the tyre twice but it still looses air.

Well the way I see it is you run the same risk as getting a puncture in a normal tubeless tire, which doesn't happen very long. Lots of people seem to say that sealant seems to fix any punctures. Anyone recommend a good one?

G, yes I'll email him and ask. Hes already knocked some money off for ordering two. $83 each. Also ask about tax.

Ended up getting mine from the UK Sad - did find somewhere offering them at $80 each but was trying to get someone to bring them back to the UK who was worried by it in the end - though it turns out that an ex-colleague of mine who half the time lives in the US was there and would have sent them back for me fine - too late however.

Anyway, pretty impressed by them. Reckon I had the rear MT21 at around 5-6psi (under 10, but didn't have more detail than that) on some really rockey stuff. Kept that rather low pressure without punctures or tyre spinning on the rim on some seriously rocky stuff (pics to come later at some point) which gave the relatively heavy bike plenty of grip, even up some pretty nasty stuff, though I did have to get off at a couple of the steeper points.

I remember seeing a few yours ago a system that used pre inflated balls and a thicker rim tape( glued over the spoke holes) to eliminate off road punctures,

now that was meant to work realy quite well for lost distance riding on punctures because the balls would deflate if punctured but the other balls would just take up the space left behind.

I would still rather carry a pressurised tyre foam/inflator kit,and TBH i would rather know right away that i had a flat than to realise when I hit the road or a bump and buckle a rim like you would with the tubliss thing.

I've ridden at least a decent chunk of a hare and hounds with a flat front and been fine.

Surely the only time you would 'find out' you've got a flat with a tube over the tubliss is if the tyre got wrenched off the rim? Otherwise the feel should be the same, surely? Also, riding any distance with a flat with the tube will knacker your inner tube pretty quickly.

Being able to run trials-pressures in some nasty conditions has some distinct advantages - trials wheels tend to be tubeless for this reason. The tubliss adds the advantage of being a better rim-lock.
It also definitely makes tyre changing easier, though I was having to be careful not to hook the small innertube.
