I want bobbins for the rear swingarm on my 2000 CBR600F. I can buy them easily enough but for the life of me I cannot see where they are supposed to fit. At the moment I'm assuming that I would need to drill and tap the swingarm, is that correct? I'm not interested in the type that go through the rear spindle, I want them so I can take off the rear wheel. Anyone fitted them that can give advice?

Usually the swinging arms have pre drilled and tapped holes for bobbins. I personally wouldn't go and drill and tap an alloy swinging arm...

That's what I thought but there are loads of places advertising them.
I guess I'm stuck with the type that go through the spindle but since the purpose was to use them with a paddock stand it sort of makes it pointless.

but surely you can just use the centre stand if you want to take the rear wheel off??

You drill your own holes if you want to use bobbins.

I prefer the hook type rather than the pad type. Just feels safer to me? Probably just in my head.

If I had a centre stand it would help Laughing It was removed.

ive straightened a bend subframe on my trackbike smashing it with a hammer and pulling it around with huge grips whilst its been on the 'pad' stand and its been fine Very Happy

but i see your point Smile my front stand rests on the forks.. would much prefer the mount that feeds into the fork as it just looks a lot more stable
