Like is this MCN news..
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/General-news/2009/August/aug1309-help-mcn-reclaim-north-wales/

I'm thinking about going there.. it's 130 miles from me, and it shouldn't be too much for my 125cc 2-stroke.

Just in case I'm going to get breakdown cover.. I was going to get it anyway Wink

If the weather is nice I may try it.

Cool.. I've never been to Wales.

In my case all is legal.. standard size number plate, declared mods, the bike is roadworthy.. I don't need to worry.

All I need is a nice weather.. otherwise I'll be watching F1 on TV Wink

I think this is a bad idea, especially with mcn being involved, brunstrom's gone now and I suspect mcn are hoping the new chief will be less anti bike so they can call their protest a success. What's the point in pissing off the new chief??? This should have been done a few years ago not now.

Hey wouldn't it of been great if bikers had organised this themselves instead of a newspaper. But big numbers are needed and it needs highlighting.
Car drivers wouldn't put up with it would they.

I don't give a monkeys toss who the past/present police boss is, or the fact a newspaper will gloat. The fact is riding a bike is like being a teenager in a hoodie. You're gonna get pulled and hassled sooner or later, and Wales is particularly bad.
Make a stand or stay home.

Not giving a toss about the cause of the problems a bit stupid isn't it????

Why didn't anybody arrange a major protest about this after the photo thing with brunstrom???it would have made a lot more news back then. He's been a major cock but nobody was willing to stand up to him. causing a load of shit now before knowing what the new guy is going to do is just asking for more hastle.

I don't bloody know about photos with brunstorm..i don't give a toss. And i admire your outlook on new police bosses. But i on the other hand distrust them.
You don't have to join in the rally, you just keep yer head down.

look at the mark gibney section on richard brunstrom's wiki page.

I'm not saying the protests wrong but I disagree with the timing of it, now's not the time it'd be like having a general election today then protesting tomorrow about something the last government did.

I've also read a few things about local bikers being worried the protests gonna stir shit for them with the police.

To be perfectly honest I don't give a toss who the police chief is. I'm not going to go there as a protester. I just want to have a ride, see some bikes, see nice places and go back home.

Christ, i am finding it really hard to choose one side of the fence.
There are very good arguments form both sides.

Go there for the common good of all bikers to stand my ground and be a rebel (of sorts)

or

Will doing this give the NW police more reason to be difficult and risk getting 3 points that i cant afford to get.

I'll most likely be working so I doubt I'll be able to go but Betws y Coed is only 20 minutes down the road from me so I'll probably leave for work a bit earlier that day to allow for being pulled over...!

Bugger, the ZX won't be insured until a couple of weeks after, although there is virtually no chance of me being picked out, I'm just not wired that way.

No doubt the problem won't go away overnight so I may get another chance to have my say at a later date!
