Why is that some days im just not "feelin" it, not in the zone etc....

I usually ride with bags of confidence on the way into liverpool city centre down riverside drive to drop her off at work in the morning and back along the same road. I know it like the back of my hand, every bump, manhole cover, safe overtaking places etc. I get proper awesome leans over the round abouts cos i know the perfect line and stuff. But today i was ok on the way in, but coming back it was just odd, and weird and strange. felt like i had lost focus and i was making mistakes and having to correct myself all the time. I know sometimes the zxr doesn't feel like it wants to play, but thats just women for yah, today however it was running sweet, purring like a kitten at idle and roaring like a lion on steroids when giving it some beans.

Whats going on, i hope i get in the zone when heading to Manchester in a few hours.....

It happens sometimes. You use a lot of energy and concentration to ride well, if you're tired or out of sorts it is more difficult to focus.

Neck a couple of coffees and do some press ups Thumbs Up Laughing

I think everyone has that at times, I went out for a ride with some mates, me with the missus on the back, the other weekend and I couldn't get into the groove at all. It may have been down to the erratic riding of one of my mates but I just felt uncomfortable on the bike.

I lost them eventually, through them getting past a lorry and doing a left turn while I went staright on, once on my own I got back into the rhythm of riding and was loving it again.

It can be down to your mental state and stress especially can cause this, don't lose sleep over it, else you'll do it again cos you'll be tired Mr. Green

Cheers

I get this too! I thought I was the only one.

Sometimes I have a great ride and feel in touch 100% with the bike and others just don't feel that great and that confident with it.

I have only been riding nearly two years, the amount I ride I guess its about eight months.

I just put it down to experience and hope it doesn't happen so often!

Cheers,
Si

Sometimes even getting off the bike for a couple of minutes then back on it makes a difference. On long runs I'll often find myself riding better or worse between fuel stops for no apparent reason.

Some kind of minor discomfort can put me off my stroke, like my rubbish textile trousers making my balls sweaty and uncomfortable Sick Laughing The other day I went out for a blast to try and reinvigorate my appreciation for my CBR and the low lying sun that was constantly in my eyes just took me right out of my groove, didn't enjoy the ride at all.

Yes...but mine is due to health issues...it's a major pain in the arse. There are days when it's glorious weather and perfect conditions for a ride out, yet if I'm 'not up to it', I cannot go out. Sad
