Theoretical parking ticket defense

Mate of mine just got a parking ticket and now you get to see the photos of your car on the council website, all cleally date and time stamped as their evidence.

So this gets me thinking, what would happen if you took a photo of the same spot, without your car and adjusted the date and time in your camera to show same details they had?

They have evidence to show you were there, you have evidence to show you were not, what would they do?

I suspect they would say you were accusing them of fraud, then do the same to you.

They (any anyone else) would probably say: Why on earth would you have taken a photo of an empty parking space?

If I were a magistrate I'd kick your butt for perjury. Maybe that's why I'm not a magistrate.

A slightly more believable method would be take a "scenic" picture of your car (inc number plate) with 10 minutes difference to the offence, at a place more than 10mins away.

But it probably still wouldn't work as evidence.

Was thinking of doing something similar with my Dad's speeding ticket if they didn't have photographic evidence. We have a camera system that monitors our garage.

We were going to modify the date/time on it so it looks like all day the bike has been in the garage and then taken out 20 mins after the alleged offence. Probably wouldn't work though AND they did have photographs, oh well! Laughing
