Trip to France

Hi

Me and the lady friend are off to visit my parents in France (near Rennes) on Sunday.

I think I have packed all we will need. We are going to silverstone to watch the touring cars on Friday-Sunday, then straight off to France.

we have...

Spare set of bulbs
High viz vests
A can of tyre weld (just incase)
European break down cover
2 sleeping bags
1 light weight tent
small gas stove + gas
disposable bbq
matches
air bed (if it fits on the bike)
2 mess tins

bike documents
insurance papers
both parts of my license
spare key
passports
ferry details
gps + maps

I changed the oil and filter in the bike yesterday, and checked the tyre pressure.

Is there anything i have missed, apart from clothes?

take copies of all documents & also scan them into your pc and send them to a hotmail account - advice taken from someone else on here.

have you got reflective bits on your lid as well?

I think that a motorcyclist is actually exempt from carrying the spare bulbs and hi viz vests in france (as well as the first aid kit and warning triangle), as most of these compulsory items do not apply to two & three wheeled vehicles.

Obviously the more you take the better but don't get bogged down with carrying stuff that you don't need, especially if it is things you can buy easily such as the bulbs for example. I wouldn't take the Tyreweld either seeing as you have European Breakdown cover, if you do get a puncture the chances of the Tyreweld being able to 'fix' it are probably only 50/50 anyway.

A handful of cable ties and a roll of electrical tape are always handy to carry, its amazing what you can repair with those two simple items. Other than this and what is on your list I think you are pretty much set. Don't forget to take a cash card as well.
