One really does have to wonder what goes through the minds of scum like these. They intended murder, for £5000, and they'd be sharing it too. WTF? Rolling Eyes

It is ott hetz but there are loads of people who are killed for a lot less. I'm not in anyway saying that it was the victims fault I just can't understand why anybody would turn up to view a car and take that sort of money with them, Hope the poor guy makes a full recovery.

The thing is, even if he didn't have the money on him, it still would of happened.

Here's an idea for you, to turn up at a strange location to look at a car doesn't need you to take the full amount. Shocked Turn up, check the car over, leave a deposit and be back in half hour with the rest. Alright it won't stop you from being attacked but it will stop them robbing you as well.

You really don't want to be carrying that much money on you whilst not having any heavies, do you? Lesson learnt for Mr Naive.

Exactly. It's Barking FFS (as in Barking, Essex, not Barking Mad although it's probably that too) - why on earth would you show up to look over a car in BARKING with £5k in your sky rocket. Needs head checked over.

I've heard of this sort of thing happening before.

Mates of mine have gone to view cars they've found in the autotrader, only to be met by 5 blokes with baseball bats.

Needless to say, if I'm ever going to view anything whilst holding cash, I ask a couple of pals along with me who can get nasty if needs be. Failing that I'll take a duster with me, every little helps an all that, in this day and age I tend to kind of expect......well, perhaps expect isn't the right word, but certainly I would not be totally amazed with surprise if someone tried something on.

I guess if you are going to mug someone, it pays to make sure they are gonna have a sizeable amount of cash on them, and pretending to be selling a car or motorbike makes sense.

I'm surprised you're surprised Hetz; the scum that are out on the streets now will cheerfully murder you for a tenner, or because they are bored - and that isn't an exaggeration.

I've heard several versions of this tale in recent months, I guess little wanksta wannabes are combining their love of random and cowardly violence with their love of gadgets and t'internet.

I guess murdering your ebay buyer, would prevent them giving you bad feedback too. Thinking
