Don't do this, it burns your gums and makes the pain worse.

Dentist FTW

If there's anything I've learned over the past 30 years it's that teeth don't heal themselves. If a tooth does something funny get your arse down to a dentist because the longer you leave it the worse it's going to get. I have astonishingly vivid memories of being in Houston and spending the nights just standing, because lying down made it hurt too much.

The *only* thing I found that made the pain in any way tolerable was getting a dentist to drill the nerve out. Clove oil does diddley squat, as do pain killers. Even Vicodin couldn't stop the pain - it just stopped me caring about it so much.

Paracetamol + Codeine + Ibuprofen work nicely together but don't do it too much and don't take more than the max dose of each. Thumbs Up

Nitrous/Oxygen 50/50 mix is probably easier to obtain though Wink

For the princely sum of £16.50, the lovely dentist ladies ripped my tooth out. Local anaesthetic? Ideal. Numbs the gums. Doesnt numb the roots though.

Try sitting still for 5 minutes with a fully sensitised, absyssed tooth root while some pliars are tugging away.

All done. Maybe ill actually get some sleep now (in work)

Take a 2lb hammer and mash your thumb on a metal bench with it.
It does hee-haw for toothache but it will take your mind off it a bit.

Brush your teeth properly and eat less sugar.
Prevention is better in this case.

Had a molar out that way when I was 12. Had to have 4 removed for my wisdom teeth, but the last 3 were done under general, as the dentist took about 20 minutes to do it and it was agony. Molars are stubborn.

wasnt a case of that, the tooth got broken during a rugby match when i was about 15, i just never got round to sorting it out till it became a massive problem, then it was beyond repair.

Finish work in 45 mins and im going to sleep so well tonight...

Explain to me how a drop of oil in your mouth stays just on your tooth.

I was told by a dentist it makes the problem much worse.

Clove oil has worked for me without giving me any gum problems? Confused Doesn't last too long though so need to keep dabbing it on. It does work though. At that time in the morning you could have tried your 24 hour Tesco/Asda etc.. sure they'd stock it, not sure the delivery guy is cutting about at that time though. Laughing

Just pray you don't get a dry socket as the pain is 10X worse than the initial toothache.

I had a dry socket three days after a tooth got pulled. I was stuck up in Aberdeen for 5 days doing a course and was in tears with the pain!!
Ended up going to the dental hospital where I almost made love to the dentist after he fixed it for me, the relief of pain was almost orgasmic Embarassed
