nsr 125 engine :)

hi, im buying my self a used nsr 125 engine but i dont have a clue about them lol this it what he has said but i dont no what he means.

this is the message i got off him
"mate thee is absolutly nothing wrong so long as you run the barrel an piston in you will be fine"
it has done 7700 odd miles

has a new barrel piston and gasket set
(barrel never fitted to a bike) what does this mean ?

what you should do is to buy the most recent . control compression (something under 125 PSI is not good) . if not OK , then dismount top end , control conrod side play , see the barrel & piston condition , eventually change rings , de-coke head & exhaust port
about cost :
- rings change £50 (with seals & gaskets)
- piston change £100
- top-end change £200
but i will say for a 2001 (2002 dont exist) £135 is a very good price providing the crankshaft is OK

go where your filling is good , anyway a top-end control is necessary before fitting a new engine

i've got a spare nsr engine in my garage, you can have it for £80 if you fetch it as it's just been sitting there for the last year or so.
Its off a 2004 registered bike and done around 18,000 miles.
