My bike seems to have its pillion foot pegs removed Crying or Very sad

Where can I buy some pillion pegs?!?

eBay.

If you don't have a solo seat then it will fail an MOT if you don't have pillion pegs (or at least something to rest their feet on).

What bike is it?

its a CBR600 RR (2003) Sad

EDIT: I put a deposit on it and will pick it up next week, isit worth ringing them up and telling them the situation? Its Hondas official used showroom

If it has a pillion seat, technically it's not roadworthy without the pillion pegs. It would definately fail an MOT. They shouldn't be selling you an unroadworthy bike.

I bought mine with no pillion pegs, went to local kwak dealer... £250 they wanted direct from kwak. I laughed in his face and left.

Picked some up from a breakers for £40

you know if you dont have a chain guard with a bike with 2 seats and you dont have any back pegs it wont fail, i've done it with my bike a few times just to pass it through the mot

well the man did say when i was buyin.... the advantage of buying from hondas dealership is that whether it costs me £100 or £500 we will make sure the bike is roadworthy n change all the necesary parts when we fully inspect it for you... I suppose footpegs count as you guys said...

right say you have a your bike what ever it is and it has a seat for you and a pillion and you dont have a chain guard it would fail because it has pegs for the passenger but no chain guard, so take the pegs off and it wont fail because you can't ride with a pillion with no foot pegs(you can if you really want to try it) but it should pass the mot anyway

If your buying the bike from a dealership.... ask to have some fitted in agreement to your deal.
If you dont ask you will never know will you? They might fit them free they might want a bit ontop.

Well it still amazes me what new things I learn day to day...I had no idea about the pillion peg rule. I had mine removed when I changed my bike to a single seater, but for aesthetic reasons only.

I would contact a local bike breakers, they are bound to have some spares...

So you are saying that if it has a rider and a pillion seat fitted, pillion pegs fitted too, but no chain guard - then it will fail?

I hate to tell you but it shouldn't fail as there is no requirement in the MOT testers manual to have a chain guard fitted at all. It only states that if one is fitted it must be secure.

I'll grant you that in the eyes of the law it is a legal requirement to have a chain guard fitted if you have a pillion on board, but legal requirements and MOT requirements differ somewhat. Very Happy

i cant remember what the mot guy said 100% but it was something along them lines yes

Guess how many times i do shit like that? Lol, had to completely stock a ducati monster and it had every mod possible on it once, jeeez some stuff more difficult than others but all together took me best part of a day as i was working blind lol.
